Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common cause of coughs and colds.
It usually gets better by itself, but it can be serious for some babies and older adults.
RSV infection often causes symptoms similar to a cold, including:
- cough
- sore throat
- sneezing
- a runny or blocked nose
You will be contacted by the surgery if you are eligible for the RSV vaccination.
Eligible patients include those aged 75-79 and pregnant women from their 28th week.
